We went to the beach last weekend....now I think I'm addicted. It's cool because we can take the train out to Long Island and you pretty much walk onto the beach. I'm sad since I have to miss going to Montauk this year, but maybe we can go to Long Beach 4th of July weekend despite the crowds.
It's really nice outside and I'm at work right now. There's no windows by my cubicle. Sometimes it feels like I work in a cave. It feels like one of those days where you fantasize about getting to work and just running away and hanging out in the park or have an adventure instead. But no, I walked through those doors and here I am. It's pretty lame.
Woah, two posts in two days! Crazy! I felt like I had to tell the world that I got the best haircut yesterday. Not that the haircut itself is the best, but the experience. Also, I should add that the haircut looks good too, but it was just a trim so it doesn't look much different. But enough about that. Onto the experience.
So I wanted to try the new place a few blocks down cause I wasn't really happy with the last place I went to. So I walk over to it and realize its run by chinese people, which at first made me not want to go in because I was afraid they may misunderstand what I want and I could get a terrible haircut before going away to Italy. However, I decided what the hell and when in.
So I walk in and say I want a haircut and they just kind of point to a seat. So I wait and a woman walks up to me and says we wash your hair now. At first I wanted to say I didn't want my hair washed, just the cut, but I went with it instead. Now here's where the best experience came in. Throughout the whole thing, no one engaged me in any kind of small talk. I could enjoy my hair being washed, cut, and blow dried without saying a word besides how I wanted it to look and not feel weird about it because English was obviously not their first language. To top it off, it wasn't even expensive. Good times.
I'm pretty sure Spring has arrived for real this week. I'm happy about that since I just went skiing for the last time this past weekend. I went up to Okemo in Vermont and stayed in a condo right on the mountain. It was pretty cool since I just had to walk outside, strap on my skis and start going down the mountain.
Back to Spring. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't like it if it never got cold. There's just something about knowing that winter is over and everything is about to grow. I think I would take the warm temperature for granted if it were always there. This time of year always makes me feel good.
I went skiing at Catamount last weekend with my parents. Erik was suppose to come but didn't because he got lame and was sick. I had a good time even though Catamount is kind of a crappy mountain. I just like skiing and since this winter hasn't been all that great for skiing so far, I was just glad to get out there. I'm going to Okimo in Vermont towards the end of March. We're staying in one of those condos right on the mountain. "We" as in my family and I. Erik's not quite ready for Vermont and he really can't take off another day since he'll have just started his new job at Sony and we're going to Italy the following week. I'm planning on going to Aspen in two years....who wants to come?
